Adding to recent rumours about Intel and Apple to have begun talks over manufacturing of processors for future Apple devices there are a fresh set of rumours circulating around about Intel to start manufacturing A7 processors for Apple as early as 2014. Digitimes report that Intel might provide 10% of all Apple A7 processors while Samsung will produce 50% of them and TSMC will produce 40% of the orders from Apple. This seems to be a logical move for now as Intel can fill up its production idle capacity and also start exploring possibilities of full scale manufacturing of Apple processors eventually.
Since the relation between Apple and Samsung are turning stale slowly rumours are strongly pouring in about Apple distancing itself from Samsung as much as possible in a long term plan. Earlier rumours stated that Apple is providing orders for Qualcomm based 28nm Snapdragon processor for low cost iPhone to TSMC as well.
Intel wasn’t really keen on serving Apple till date as it was going good for the PC industry but since the launch of iPad things have been going a bit bleak for the PC industry and it is high time intel get serious with the mobile processor industry. Samsung was the only company complying with low margins provided by Apple to manufacture their processors previously but looks like there isn’t going to be a long term relation between Apple and Samsung soon.
